Lawrenceburg’s Middle Tennessee District Fair Named
2008 State Champion of Champions
The 2008 Middle Tennessee District Fair was named Tennessee Champion of Champions Fair at the Tennessee Association of Fairs Convention held in Nashville in January, 2009. Over sixty fairs throughout the state are evaluated annually by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture for quality of programs, exhibits, and general fair operations. Fairs named best in their division in 2007 competed for the 2008 Champion of Champions Award. This is the top award that can be received by a Tennessee fair. Keith Rohling served as fair manager, and Jack Grinnell served as assistant manager.
Dr. John M. Beasley was recognized with the Tennessee Association of Fairs Thornton Taylor Award. This honor is bestowed upon individuals who have distinguished themselves in lifetime service to the association and fairs in the state of Tennessee. It is the highest individual award given by the Tennessee Association of Fairs.
