Local Songwriter Performs at Rotary Club

Mark Springer



     Songwriter, and Summertown resident, Mark Springer was the special guest at the October 15, 2010 meeting of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club.  Springer performed several of his compositions and regaled the club with stories from his childhood growing up on a farm in Weiner, Arkansas and his career as a country music songwriter.

     Springer wrote "Where Corn Don't Grow", recorded by Travis Tritt;  "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane, a number 1 hit for Tanya Tucker; "One Boy, One Girl", a number 1 hit for Colin Raye; and "That's Why I'm Here", "All I Need to Know", and "Grandpa Told Me So" all recorded by Kenny Chesney.
